What does Trivia Night raise money to support?

Trivia Night raises money to provide tuition-free, high-quality programming, and academic instruction by certified teachers during the Horizons at St. Richard’s summer program. Horizons offers our students reading and math instruction, project-based learning, social-emotional curriculum, life-saving swimming lessons, educational field experiences, nutritious lunch and snacks, and memories that last a lifetime.

Will this year’s Trivia Night be held in person?

Yes, Trivia Night will be held in person at Half Liter Brewery, located at 5301 Winthrop Ave, Suite B, Indianapolis, IN, 46220.

What is the difference between the different packages?

All packages come with admission to the Horizons Super Fan: Trivia Night event and heavy appetizers provided by Half Liter. You can choose packages priced at $100 or $150 per ticket. Explore the breakdown below for a comprehensive overview of each package.

What should I expect at Trivia Night?

Enjoy 5 thrilling rounds of trivia, each carefully crafted to challenge and entertain, presented by Naptown Trivia. This event will be hosted by, Ann Thompson, SRES’s teacher extraordinaire.

Doors will open at 6:00 pm through the special event hall entrance located on the south side of the building. Keep an eye out for the balloons! There will be heavy hors d'oeuvres served by Half Liter available throughout the evening starting when doors open. Teams will be assigned a number and table to guarantee a comfortable seating arrangement for your group.

The event will start with a welcoming speech, logistics briefing, and rules review for the first ten minutes. Then, the trivia will begin. Questions will be read aloud by our host and displayed on two screens. There will be a short break between each round of trivia. We expect to end by 10:00 pm.

Can teams dress up in costumes or have a table theme?

Yes!! Unleash the inner super fan of your team. Whether you wish to show your love for a sports team, musician, pop culture legacy, or any other fandom. Feel free to dress up and/or decorate your table. You will also have to come up with a name for your team that reflects your members, Trivia Night tradition, or the chosen fandom.

What are mulligans and hint sheets?

 Mulligans and hint sheets give your team a competitive advantage at Trivia Night. Mulligans can be used to replace answers that you are unsure are correct. By using the mulligan on a question, your team automatically receives a point for that question (even if you’re wrong). Only ONE mulligan can be used per round! 

Hint sheets are provided by Naptown Trivia and give teams a clue to help determine the answer for one specific question in each round. 

Mulligans and hint sheets are included as part of a Super Fan package. Mulligans and hint sheets can be added on for an additional price to Fan packages. 

 Can I purchase hint sheets and mulligans during the event?

Only for the first round of the event! Once the first round of trivia is over, no hint sheets or mulligans will be available for purchase. 

To ensure your team has a competitive edge, it is recommended that you purchase your mulligans and hint sheets when making your initial ticket purchase before the event. 

All Super Fan packages include hint sheets and mulligans OR you may purchase hint sheets and mulligans separately for Fan packages. Only one hint sheet and one set of mulligans need to be purchased for each Fan
Team
because only one mulligan can be used per round and only one hint sheet will be generated.

What does the winning team receive for coming in first place?

Bragging rights :)

How many people are on a team? How does registration work?

This year, players have two options when creating their team. Teams can be composed of 4 or 8 members. A designated team captain will purchase a team package for the members of their team using our secure website page. Horizons Trivia Night 2024 Team Registration

Will there be an auction this year?

No, but there will be a raffle and a sign-up for Horizons Progressive Cocktail Party.

What is the Horizons Progressive Cocktail Party?

Horizons Progressive Cocktail Party is a fun evening held in late spring or early summer. Guests will be chauffeured on the SRES/Horizons bus to different stops with yummy appetizers, signature cocktails, and/or dessert and coffee at each. It’s a fabulous adult night out with fabulous folks - and not one to be missed!
